fckmainstream asked: Hi. (: I was just wondering what preparation you do for anal, and anal play. I've never dabbled in anything like that before but I've fallen in love with your crystal delights minx tail and my partner and I have been talking about maybe getting one. ^^ so any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

Um, honestly I don’t do much… I suppose you *could* give yourself an enema or something beforehand, but to be honest I’m not terribly freaked out by the possibility of a tiny bit of poop getting on the plug—I mean, honestly, it’s glass!! It is suuuuuper easy to clean. If it bothers you, though, by all means wash yourself out and get that hole as clean as you can get it via an enema. (I usually will give myself an enema if I know I’m having anal sex on any given day, but even then I’ve had anal sex without prepping that way.)

So, next is to get yourself ready for insertion. (I’m operating on the assumption you’ve never ever put a finger up your butt and are a total noob.) Usually I like to tell people to get comfortable with anal stimulation first, by either sliding a ULTRA lubed finger around the area (no need to insert) or even having a partner use their tongue. Just get yourself used to the stimulation, and used to enjoying it. It’s always best to take your time on these things—because it really IS for pleasure, but it does take your body a bit of time (training, really) to learn how to accept and appreciate the joy of anal stimulation. Some people it takes longer than others, but make sure you’re having fun above all else!

When it comes to actual insertion, the *best* advice I have for this is to think about pushing out when something is pushing in. Seems counter intuitive, but if you think about the muscles, basically what you’re allowing them to do is open up so something can come out, or in this case, go in. That makes it WAY easier and less painful. If it gets uncomfortable, I always just push outwards harder, and things tend to just pop right in. It just works. The other main piece of advice is using a good lube, and LOTS of it! Especially at first. I’ve found now that my ass is pretty damn well trained I need little to no lube with my glass toys—they’re so ultra smooth on their own they kinda just slide in. BUT I would always use lube to begin with, and really, the more the merrier. Experiment and discover what works for you, though. Some people really get off on the discomfort, others want only pleasure. To me, a lot of the fun with sex is trying new things and seeing what works, and that also holds true with anal stimulation.

I have found the plugs at crystaldelights.com to be exceptional for beginners, because they are smooth (easier to insert) and not very large. (You can follow that link and find the Minx Tails on there somewhere…) People who like super large plugs may not be as pleased, but I find the size really good for people just starting out, and they’re so comfortable I usually end up wearing them for hours. I find the smooth slightly easier than the frosted glass to wear for long periods of time. Of course, this isn’t to say that experienced people won’t enjoy them! I’m very experienced and I love them and wear them almost daily. :)
